O’Neill, Dorothy R. (Covello), Lifelong resident of Arlington, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cambridge to the late Nicholas Covello and Catherine (Collins). Beloved wife of the late James J. O’Neill, Jr. Loving mother of Brian O’Neill and his wife Nicole, Daniel O’Neill and his Fiancé Jenny Melguizo, Karen DeRosas and her husband John. Cherished ‘Nana’ of Lauren, Allison, Katherine, Cole, Kyle, Shannon, and Jack. Dear sister of the late Nicholas Covello, Jr. Longtime companion for over 28 years to Richard Collins. Dorothy is also survived by Cara O’Neill, and many dear cousins, and lifelong friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington, Wednesday, July 26th from 9:30 AM to 11 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 5 1 Medford St., Arlington at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to be made in Dorothy’s memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, or Visiting Nurse & Community Care, 37 Broadway, Arlington, MA 02474.
