Orbituary

John R. Gustafson, 78, of Glastonbury CT passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on December 27th, 2020, by his side, his beloved son Garrett Gustafson. John was a graduate of Boston University, with a bachelors in Aeronautical Engineering, and spent 25 years at UTC/Pratt & Whitney and another 10 working at IAE, both full time and as a consultant.  John stayed active playing softball, golf, skiing, tennis, hockey, bike riding, and he loved his beer.  But with those activities, he enjoyed the camaraderie that they brought as he always enjoyed having people around telling stories.  While retired, he loved spending time down at his Rhode Island hut. John is predeceased by his wife, Elaine Kindle Gustafson of Glastonbury, CT, and his mother Esther Gustafson, of Arlington, MA and his brother Carl Gustafson, of Burlington, MA, and his sister Judy Gustafson, of Arlington, MA. John is survived by his Son, Garrett Gustafson, of Manhattan Beach, CA, and his daughter and son-in-law Whitney and Jordan Burger of New York, NY.  He also leaves his niece Amanda Grueter (married to Chip Grueter) and nephew Adam Gustafson (married to Kate Gustafson) and his close friend Goeff Mott (married to MaryAnn Mott).
