Frederick "Fred" Thomas Strachan III

Frederick “Fred” Thomas Strachan, III, died peacefully at his home in Lyman on August 4, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born in Boston, MA, a son of Frederick Thomas and Veronica Agnes (O’Neill) Strachan, Jr. He was a 1960 graduate of Arlington High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business from Salem State College in Salem, MA.
He served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and went on to join the reserves and retired after 20 years. On November 4, 1991 he married Elaine St. Amand in Tiverton, RI. Fred worked as a pipefitter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 20 years retiring in 2008.
